Josh’s Testimony and Call

I made a profession of faith at four years old, but at eight years old I was reminded of the rapture and started to doubt my salvation. I went to my dad and he showed me from God’s Word how I could know I was saved. I did not have confidence or the Holy Spirit’s assurance that I was a child of God so that night I put my trust in Jesus Christ’s finished work and was baptized in my home church, Bethel Baptist Church, the following Sunday. In searching God’s will for my life as a teenager, I knew he had called me to preach. After graduating high school, I attended Camp BIMI and saw the Lord direct me to missions. Attending my first semester at Crown College, the Lord confirmed that he would have me to serve Him in the country of Mali.
Alyssa’s Testimony and Call

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home where my family attended Bethel Baptist Church. It was one Sunday morning, at the age of six, that I saw my need for salvation and received Christ into my heart and life. I was soon baptized and continued to grow in our church through the next several years. Once it came time for college, I attended The Crown College of the Bible. It was there during a Baptist Friends meeting, that God called me to go to Africa. I started dating Joshua at Crown and he also had a call to serve in Africa- specifically Mali, West Africa. We are excited to see how God will use us as we serve Him in Africa.

Doctrines and Statement of Faith
Salvation- We believe that salvation is only through Jesus Christ and His shed blood. No man can earn salvation through works, and no man can add anything to the finished work of Jesus Christ in order to be saved. Once a person chooses to accept God’s gift of salvation they have eternal life which cannot be lost or taken away.
The Bible– We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, and that the King James Version is God’s preserved Word for English speaking people.
The Trinity– We believe that there is one God in three persons –God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are equal in position and power.
Jesus Christ- We believe He is God’s Son and was born of a virgin to become 100% man yet 100% God. He lived a sinless human life and died on the cross for the sins of every man. He had a bodily resurrection to defeat death and ascended up into heaven and is coming again.
The Holy Spirit– We believe the Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead that indwells those that put their trust in Christ for salvation. He convicts and empowers. The Holy Spirit does not cause one to speak in tongues, heal, or prophesy in today’s time as those sign gifts were reserved for the early church age.
The Church– We believe the church is a group of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together for the purpose of carrying out the great commission, observing its ordinances, and exercising its autonomy.
